Care & Maintenance Guide

Proper care will ensure your cashmere pieces last for generations.

Washing

Hand Washing (Recommended)

  1. Fill a basin with cool or lukewarm water (never hot)
  2. Add a small amount of cashmere-specific detergent
  3. Gently submerge the garment and let it soak for 10-15 minutes
  4. Gently squeeze the water through the fabric (never wring or twist)
  5. Rinse thoroughly with cool water until all soap is removed
  6. Gently press out excess water with a towel
  7. Lay flat on a clean towel to dry, reshaping as needed

Machine Washing

If machine washing, use the delicate cycle with cold water and a cashmere-specific detergent. Place the garment in a mesh laundry bag to protect it.

Never use bleach or fabric softener.

Drying

Always lay cashmere flat to dry. Never hang it, as this can cause stretching and distortion. Reshape the garment while it's still damp to maintain its original form.

Never tumble dry or expose to direct heat or sunlight.

Storage

  • Store cashmere folded, never hung
  • Use breathable storage containers or cotton bags
  • Add cedar blocks or lavender sachets to deter moths
  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight
  • Allow garments to air out before storing after wearing

Pilling

Some pilling is normal with cashmere, especially in areas of friction. This is a sign of natural fiber, not poor quality.

Use a cashmere comb or fabric shaver to gently remove pills. Never pull them off, as this can damage the fabric.
